Ayanam Learn is a study tool built around active recall and spaced repetition. This page explains, in plain language, what information it collects, why, and how you can have it deleted.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, school, major, and email address. As you use the app, it stores what you enter yourself: course names, the notes and key ideas you capture after each class, your self-rating and review history, and — if you set one — an exam date for a course. We don't collect anything beyond what the app's features actually need.
How we use it
Your information is used only to run the app: scheduling your reviews, tracking your progress and mastery over time, sending you account-related email (confirmation, password reset), and letting you sign back in. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Where it's stored
Ayanam Learn's data is stored with Supabase, a database provider running on AWS infrastructure. Access controls (row-level security) are configured so your account can only ever read or write your own data — not other students' data, and not other courses' data.
Who can see your data
Inside the app, only you can see your own captured notes and review history. As the person operating Ayanam Learn, I (Venu) can access the underlying database when necessary for support, troubleshooting, or to comply with the law — the same as anyone running a small hosted service. I don't browse student data for any other purpose.
Third-party services we use
A few outside services help run Ayanam Learn, each handling only what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase — database and account sign-in
- Netlify — hosting the website and app
- Resend — sending account emails (confirmation, password reset)
- hCaptcha — telling humans apart from bots at sign-in
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and everything associated with it deleted, email support@ayanamlearn.com and it will be removed.
Cookies and local storage
Ayanam Learn uses minimal local storage on your device to keep you signed in and remember a few app preferences. There is no ad tracking and no third-party analytics tracking you across other sites.
An independent tool
Ayanam Learn is an independent study tool, not an official system of any university. Using it is voluntary, and it is not part of your school's official data systems or governed by your school's data policies.
Children's privacy
Ayanam Learn is intended for students in higher education and is not directed at children under 13.
